About Pastor Tommy Pope, Sr.
Tommy Pope, Sr. was born in Anniston, Al. To Paul and Tommie Pope. Tommy’s mother had a very serious decision to make, the doctor said that her chances of having the baby and living was slim to none. Tommy’s mother chose to have the baby, she called her oldest sister, Annie Mae Smith and said to her if she didn’t make it would she take the baby Tommy and raise him as her own, she said yes.
The baby Tommy was born into the world, his mother went out, the work that God had for her was brought to completion. Pastor Pope never knew his biological mother, God gave Pastor Pope a new mother and she raised him as her own in the foot hills of Esom Hill, and wares Grove in Cedartown, GA. She taught him about God taking him to church from birth to the age 18.
In Cedartown high school where he meet his high school sweetheart Syvilla, not knowing that God would use her to help bring Tommy back to Himself and for Syvilla to be his future wife and the mother of his children.
Tommy returned back to God, after over 26 years of living a worldly sinful life he asked God to forgive him of his sin’s, and asked Jesus back into his heart and made Him his Lord and Saviour. He was baptized September 15, 2002. He started Word of Truth Ministry in 2003. Since then he have been teaching God’s word to anyone that seeking the truth.
In June of 2013, he started, Unbroken Covenant Cathedral, where he serves as Pastor. A Bible believing church that takes the Good News (Gospel) to the streets. Open to people of all walk’s of life he accepts them just the way they are.
He holds no college degree but has well over half the old testament memorized word-for-word, including approximately half of the New Testament. Today, most churches are started by Bible colleges. However, the Bible makes it clear that the church is the pillar and ground of the truth, not a school. Pastor Pope’s life is characterized by faith, prayer, courage, consistency, and lack of compromise.
God has blessed Pastor Pope and Syvilla, tremendously. For Reaching out to the forsaken, forgotten, lost, abandoned, neglected, rejected and broken person, with a unconditional love that only comes from Jesus. Countless number of people have heard the Gospel, many have believed and been baptized, and many more have learned that Christianity is a way of life that God greatly desires us to follow.
